Am I eligible to vote?

You are eligible to vote if you are 18 years or older and meet one of the following criteria:

  • You are a citizen of a country in the European Union and are registered as a resident of the municipality of Het Hogeland by January 31st 2022.
  • You are a citizen of a non-EU country, but have continuously been a registered resident of The Netherlands for five years or more and are currently registered as a resident of the municipality of Het Hogeland by January 31st 2022.

What do I need in order to vote?

In the weeks leading up to the March 16th elections, you will have received a Stempas by mail on the address you are registered at. You will need to bring this pass, as well as a valid form of ID, with you to the polling station (Stembureau) to cast your vote. If you have not received a Stempas but are eligible to vote, contact the municipality.

You can cast your vote at any Stembureau in the municipality of Het Hogeland - not just the one closest to your home or stated on your Stempas.
